Visual research- Minimalist style.

After briefly looking at poster design I can see that my interest lies with those that use a minimalist and retro style so this is something that I am initially going to try and re create in my own promotional film posters. I also feel that the style heavily lends its self to film posters because of its simplicity and use of easily recognisable shapes that can quickly be linked with the film, plot or characters. Sometimes can be more tricky to understand fully and therefor invites the audience to view the imagery for longer which is good when promoting something. Most use a limited colour pallet so this is something to consider in my own.
